Cafe Au Lait
About This Spot
Stepping up to Cafe Au Lait, nestled just off the bustle of Westside Target Plaza in Olympia, you’re greeted by a charming little kiosk that feels more like a neighborhood secret than a typical mall stop. The pace here slows just enough to welcome a moment of calm amidst the errands and errands, infused with the warmth of friendly hellos and the aroma of freshly baked treats and expertly poured coffee.
The atmosphere is quietly energetic—an inviting blend of casual familiarity and the gentle hum of a community finding its daily rhythm. It’s easy to imagine regulars pulling up for their morning pick-me-up, greeted by name, while newcomers pause to soak in the comforting hum and lingering scent of rich brews and sweet confections. The drive-thru setting doesn’t sacrifice the human touch; instead, it enhances the feeling of a place that knows its people and takes joy in those simple moments of connection.
More than just coffee, this is a stop where the day can be marked by a favorite seasonal latte with unexpected notes—perhaps a cherry blossom or caramel cloud—or where a quick bite turns into a small celebration of flavors. The bakery delights are anything but ordinary, from playful s’mores cookies to delicate macarons and even keto-friendly blends that echo a thoughtful approach to varied tastes. Whether craving a hearty breakfast sandwich that feels like a gentle hug or a refreshing blueberry mint green tea, there's a sense that every choice here has been curated with care and warmth.
At its heart, Cafe Au Lait isn’t just about the menu—it’s about the quiet joy in being recognized, the comfort of knowing someone is ready to craft exactly your kind of drink, and the happiness stirred up by a thoughtfully made sweet or savory treat. It invites you to slow down, even if just for a moment, and make a ritual out of finding the small pleasures in your day.

WOW - the Brew Crew here are so friendly. And if you start coming a few times a week they will remember you and your drink. They have a KETO - sugar free blended mocha with heavy cream. Ok I had a cave in when I saw the S’mores cookie. A great little shop making local a habit !!!

Oh my goodness this place is expensive. We spent $16 for 2 large coffees. They were delicious, but omg! Service was great, very polite and sweet. Drinks were ready very quickly.

I thought I was impressed with all the coffeeshops I’ve seen in my PNW trip, but I was truly amazed with Cafe au Lait. I was thinking a shop within the mall storefront but I was so amazed to find that it was a cute little hut sitting in the parking lot! Then the service by the wonderful girls was out of this world. Kind, caring, and with a smile. And the coffee, oh my god! That was incredible! And the food was so tasty too. I could go on and on… I’m only sad that this is my one and only day in Olympia because I would love to come back here again and again. So make sure to get your coffee here if you’re in town!

Omg the best breakfast sandwiches in Olympia! If you havnt gone then your missing out! The coffee is amazing but they don’t just serve coffee they serve the best cookies, banana bread and there is always something you can grab for a quick bite but again the breakfast sandwich is heaven! We bring our three golden retrievers in for a pup cup a few times a week and the dogs love the girls!

This is one of the best little coffee drive thrus. Yes, you will wait a while. No, it's not cheap. But it's delicious. And hands down the best Fall Flavors drink menu I have ever seen.
